The Seven Seas. Wow! What a fantastic experience. The only way to see Komodo is also the only way to see Raja Ampat! The most comfortable boat, best nasi goreng with bacon and ikan asin-the hardest working friendliest crew, our great captain Pai, cruise director extraordinaire Stew, eagle eyes critter finder Tommy, always smiling, always anticipating your every desire, hostess Yovin, John the strongman and Bram always there for you after a dive no matter how long, the list goes on. An incredible series of dives: the unspoiled Daram, Beauty of Boo & Fiabacet, Mantas, Manta, Mantas at Manta Ridge. The best night dive ever at Aljui Bay. We spent the last three mornings of our trip at the Manta Ridge, for some of the top 5 dives of my life. We had 11 of them circling above us, coming within a foot of us, no other boats were there any of the days. Thanks to Stew for making it happen - to change the itinerary slightly so we could stay an extra couple of days. Thanks to Tommy for leading me to the exact perfect spot to be - on many of the dives! It is a great pleasure to dive with Tommy because of his amazing ENTHUSIASM and love for the underwater creatures and flora. He also has a very sharp eye for finding things. We had a great trip: Yovin was over and beyond helpful and pleasant, Julie cooked great meals, all of the boat drivers were so helpful, happy and mellow. It was fun doing Yoga with the staff and Sarah and Stew in the mornings. John & Bram seemed to enjoy it. Dear Crew, Stew, Yo, John, Tommy and all:- there simply aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe the place. I came here with no expectations except that I had read that this was an amazing dive location. Feeling now that I have really only “scratched the surface of the dive sites” I realize this is the best diving overall I have ever done. The “icing on my dive cake” was the large numbers of Manta Bitostrio I saw at Manta Ridge. So long Socorro-hello Raja Ampat. Super Boat-Super Crew-Thanks! Raja Ampat, March 2010 |
