They all live on the slopes of a volcano in the Banda Islands. Most of them have lost parents and their families are squatters, not land owners. We are really opening up a whole new world to these kids and feel pretty good about the program and how it is all going.![]() Thanks to a generous donation from one of our guests, we are now able to start an extension of this program which will allow a very talented candidate from the group to go to university next year. To have 1 child graduate with a degree in marine biology costs around $12,000 US from start to finish. This includes all accommodation, food, books ,computer and a trip back home each year. This also includes purchase of a bed and basic furniture for the room they will live in while attending university. Although we have almost half the necessary funds already, we still need to raise more money & all donations are greatly appreciated. For further details about any subject raised in this newsletter or to make a donation to the Banda Education Program, please contact us via: [email protected]. We look forward to welcoming you (back) for (another) adventure aboard the Seven Seas!
