Diving Komodo Aboard The Seven Seas, August 2016
Trip Report by Alicia Smith. Photos: Mike Scotland (unless otherwise stated).
I've got to a bit of a late start, but today marks day 3 of 12 of our dive adventure in Komodo aboard the Seven Seas. It's hard to sum up the immense amount of beauty in a few short sentences, so I'll give you a visual: Imagine being stranded on a rustic yet extravagant "pirate" ship in the middle of the sapphire blue waters of the Indo Pacific, surrounded by several lush, green islands. That's my life--for another 9 days anyway.
This is our second time diving in Indonesia, and so far I can say, without a doubt, it's the best. They offer 3 day dives, and for those interested, one night dive. The underwater world is vibrant, healthy and teeming with life! I can't possibly list them all, but some of my personal highlights so far have been the various types of reef sharks, large sea turtles, moray eels (I love those purple, creepy guys), redtooth triggerfish, the giant trevally, the gigantic (and I mean huge!) humphead wrasse, barracuda, and multiple variety of sweetlips. I forgot to mention the dolphins and mantas, but I didn't even have to leave the boat to see them. Crazy beautiful!

The entire crew -- and I mean everyone--have gone above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable, and they've been very successful in doing so thus far. Chrisye and Nico always start our day off with a smile -- and exceptional service! The whole crew have been so wonderful and accommodating that I've almost completely forgotten about my lost luggage (thanks JetStar!). Furthermore, I can't recall eating this good (or this much!) in ages. My only complaint pertains to another guest; he's a crazy, toast-stealing Aussie that goes by the name of Vince. But we seem to have him under control -- for the time being anyway.

"Dear Seven Seas Crew: Where to start? Karl, Linda, and the rest of the crew, you’re simply the best! From the moment I first stepped on to the boat, everything was wonderful. The diving was spectacular and the service (all-around!) was out of this world! Thanks to all of you, I had one of the best birthdays ever – I’ll never forget it! And I can’t thank you all enough for going the extra mile (or twenty) to help retrieve our “lost” luggage. This was not expected but appreciated more than you’ll ever know. I will miss each and every one of you – guests and staff alike. But I can’t wait to start planning our next visit!"

Komodo National Park, August 2016
Trip Report and photos by Fabien Michenet & Sylvain Girardot.
Just returned from a 12 day cruise in August in the Komodo Marine Park aboard Seven Seas.
We were blessed with ideal conditions to explore the shores and reefs of the Komodo National Park, with sunny weather and beautiful seas during the whole stay.
The facilities on board the Seven Seas are top-notch: the cabins are very comfortable, air-conditioned with ensuite bathrooms and always attentive crew. The excellent, varied meals are prepared by the new Chef, Totok, and introduce you to the flavors of Indonesia.

This cruise was really the most varied and most attractive we've had the opportunity to do, the dives being original and complementary.
The route chosen by Karl and Linda allowed us to dive a variety of sites in the Northern crystal waters, as well as in the fresher Southern waters, equally rich in life.

"Karl, Linda & the Seven Seas crew: thank you for allowing us to have such a wonderful experience of Komodo Island! We thoroughly enjoyed the dive sites and of course the entire boat trip! We are definitely looking forward to coming back on board the Seven Seas in the near future! The dive guides have taught us a lot and we are leaving as better divers than when we arrived! One thing we definitely will be missing is the amazing food prepared by Chef Totok and the smiling faces of crew greeting us each morning… Until next time!!"

Our fabulous days at the Seven Seas - Komodo Family Trip August 2016
Trip Report and photos by Danielle van Wees.
"Dear Lida, is being on the Seven Seas the definition of Happiness?" Just a part of the conversation on the Seven Seas. To give you already the answer, YES.
August in 2016, three families coming from different parts of the world, gathering at Labuan Bajo Flores Airport. The total trip was perfectly arranged and mentored by the Seven Seas team, and after landing we were directly transported to the boat. That is where the trip started. The group was really looking forward to this trip, knowing each other for almost 30 years, there cannot be a better reason to aboard the Seven Seas. The perfect place to actively have a perfect time together.
There was a bucket list, which was never ending. When you have checked the website of the Seven Seas you know they have an extensive list of Seven Seas Secrets. And secrets we found, not all of them on the bucket list, but that is not surprising when you don't know the overwhelming beauty of the dive & snorkeling spots and the fantastic coral and fish species you can see.
Let's just tick the box on some of the items of the list. Who did ever jump into the water, looked within a second with its snorkeling gear just on, into the massive 'face' of an approaching manta? And not one, make it 15 mantas' who were feeding themselves and just passing us. Jos and the diving staff of the Seven Seas brought us to the right place at the right moment.

Did anyone experience the fantastic sight of jumping dolphins next to the boat, when you were almost ready to aboard on a fantastic island to drink a beer and a wine? And watch the sunset. Have you ever experienced watching in the water turtles passing by, and a diving instructor just scratching his back for his convenience?
